Accredited training programs are offered at the Flying Horse Stable
Hours are approved for certification with the Certified Board for Equine Interaction Professionals (CBEIP)
Certification hours are also approved for programs in the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl).
Participation in training programs or workshops are open to anyone interested in experiencing the activities for their own personal growth and development.
As an Equine facilitator your training will include the philosophy and techniques for relationship building, communication, trust, mindfulness and emotional well-being. You will learn to apply the evaluation process, record ongoing progress and interpret the outcome based results. You will participate in activities for the horse, have direct client involvement , develop and evaluate horse participation plans, write individual participant goals and match activities to the needs of a specific mental health diagnosis for specific target groups, e.g. eating disorders, post-traumatic stress, youth at risk.
You are eligible to apply hours toward your professional development program. Programs are provided in a 4-6 hour workshop format or in an hourly format for up to 60 hours of certified training. Instruction for training includes readings in the field, documentation & interpretation of session information, complying background information, review curriculums and techniques in current approaches. Most importantly you will experience the healing power of the horse/human connection. Your personal development of an experiential program is encouraged. You may work with any of the existing FHS curriculums or plans. You may also create your individual experience for the horse/human connection.
